The funwalk is next friday and we've got our idea and started to learn our dance :) TY's have been given the colour yellow! For the last 3 years my old class never put in much effort and we normally ended up being the laughing stock of our year so it's good to be taking it more serious this year. TY is the year everyone wants to win, including the teachers. Mr Lawlor is really up for it so hopefully we have a chance to win. Fodla are really serious about it and Ms. O' C really wants to win so I think they're probably our main competition but Eriu could come out and suprise us all!
I don't want to give away any details so I'm going to finish off now...

Update.. :)
All the madness of last week is now over! We're back into our normal TY routine and the projects are starting to pile up now.
Our young scientists one page proposal is due next week and we are no where near finished. There's so much more information needed than I thought. The one page proposal is what we're judged on and that decides whether we get into the competition or not.
Mini company is also a lot more stressful than I thought it'd be! We have our idea but now we have to try find out if it can actually be made and if people would buy it. We're going to Naas soon for a talk about mini company so hopefully that will help us, we need it anyway!
Yeah, theres not much more happening right now :)

It's all over :D
We finally got our results yesterday after sitting through 5 classes waiting! :) We all got called down to the hall and had to line up in our old classes which was really weird because I've already gotten so used to Banba. I opened my envelope as soon as I was given it. I was so happy when I saw that sheet of paper :)
I went to the Orchard for lunch after and saw half of our year there! Then it was time to go over to my friends house and start getting ready for Time. We all had a great night and it was really good seeing so many people I knew. Everyone seemed happy with their results which is great :D
After 3 years, the Junior Cert is finally all over! :D

It's almost time...
In 2 hours we're getting our Junior Cert results. It's only starting to kick in now that we're actually getting the results. I'm nervous but I'm not that bad! I'm looking forward to tonight because everyone is going to Time in Naas :D haha I just realised the title of this blog makes more sense than i thought. 'Its almost time' haha :L
Its weird to think everything we've been leading up to for the last 3 years is all decided on this piece of paper and then it'll probably be forgotten about!
By tomorrow I am going to be so tired and on thursday night I'm going to get the best sleep ever! This week is crazy.... :D

Carlingford :D
We got home from Carlingford last night and it was definatly the best two days of TY so far :D I somehow managed to get up at 6 on monday morning and we met at esso at 6.45. Even though we were all wrecked on the bus everyone was buzzin with excitement :D As soon as we arrived we were split up into two groups. My group were given super cool army suits and guns! We made our way up the very steep hill (not fun!) and arrived in a forest. We played lasers, which was the funnest thing ever! Running around, aiming and shooting other peoples heads, how could it not be fun? :D
After lunch we had to walk for about 25 minutes to get to a big field to do activities. Nothing could beat the lasers but these were still really fun. My group's instructor was John, who made the activites much better! Most of the time was spent slagging his accent while he laughed at us failing most of the games! The highlight had to be 'Communication Breakdown' which was when we were all put in a dark room with 3 floors and had to make our way out. Before it, I was certain it would be easy and we'd all get out really quick, man was I wrong! After failing to get out after 15 minutes John turned on the lights and he told he was crying with laughter with some of the noises coming from us when we were inside! :L If you complete a task you get 'gems' but because we didnt get out of the room we couldnt get the gems :( But then we convinced John to give us them if we got Leah to sing :D yay :D
In the evening we did 'night line' where we were blindfolded in the forest and had to follow a rope! When we got back we were all chillin' in the common room with the boys school that was there. We had a sing song that was great fun :D
That night we got our rooms, my group of friends got split up which was annoying at first but after that I didnt mind at all because I got on really well with the girls in my room and we had a good bitta' bant before bed :D The next morning we were woken early for breakfast and told our activites for the day. We started the day with rock climbing and abseiling :D They were both really fun once you got into them. Our last thing to do was oreintiring, yeah i've no clue how to spell that but you know what I mean :L This was by far the worst thing we did! Wandering around hills, looking for numbers is alot harder and stressful than it seems. My team got totally lost, ended up in a random field with no paths so we just made our way back down the hills towards the centre :L what a fail. :L
By tuesday night I was so so so tired I could bearly stay awake and I fell asleep on the way home! We had such a great two days that I'm sure no one will forget :D

Thursday buzz :D
I LOVE Thursdays :D
Today we did even more charleston dancing with Ms. O'R, who seems to get even more into it every week! We got into groups and started to make up our own dance :D The music just puts me in a happy mood or something, its so fun! :D
After we did photography with Rob Love and took some hilarious photos! Then we went to the mall for pilates :) The lady teaching us it is so flexible its kinda scary, we all look like such amateurs compared to her! But its good and challenging :)
Carlingford is 4 days away!!! aahhh so excited :D This is the one thing you always hear the TYs talking about so I've been looking forward to it since I got accepted into TY :) When we come home we get the JC results so next week will be our busiest week yet!
Heres a link to one of the songs we've been practising our dancing to :D TUNEEEE :D

Beginning of TY
We've been in TY for over a week now and I've already gotten pretty used to it. I was put into class Banba which I was really happy about. We all get on really well and I've become closer friends already with people I didnt talk to that much before Ty. :)
We've been given a few projects already such as our geography 'Around the World' trip. We are working in groups of two and we have both been given a budget of €12000 each and we have to visit two developed countries, two developing countries and two underdeveloped countries. We have decided to visit Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, India and Nepal. I'm looking forward to doing this project :D
In home ec, we have been given a fashion project. Working in groups of 4 we are all given a plain white tshirt and white jeans. We have to design an outfit that will be modelled by one of our group at a fashion show beofre christmas. The outfit must incorporate the tshirt and trousers but you can also use your own ideas. My group have been given the colours 'Black and White' to base our outfit around.
In science we've been put into our groups for Young Scientists and we've started thinking about our idea. The 1 page proposal form is due in 3 weeks so we have to think fast! :)
Thursdays are the best days because after lunch we don't have any classes. First we do a dance class which is really fun :D then we have a photography class and finally we do pilates :D This turned out to be a lot harder than we all expected!!
On Monday, class Banba had a social development day. At 9 o'clock we went to the library and we met Austin who would be spending the day with us. We sat in a semi circle in order of what day of the month we were born. This way we got to sit beside people we wouldn't normally sit beside. We talked to the person beside us about 3 achievments we've had in our lives, what we hope to be doing in 10 years time and our most embarrassing stories! We then told the rest of the class about our partner.
After break we did a few mini games like optical illusions and things that got us thinking! We split up into groups and we did two debates. One group were debating the pro's and con's of smoking while the other group were debating if students are motivated in school. Everyone got really into the debate which turned out to be really entertaining! :D Later, Austin told us about how there are 4 groups of personality's. There are the hot directors, the entertainers, the mediators and the cool observers. I was put into the medator group :)
Over the next few weeks I'm sure we'll be given many more projects and I look forward to see what lies ahead for TY :)
